Past BBQ Fest Results
We are a sanctioned Kansas City Barbeque Society event! This means bigger cash prizes for all winners.   We pride ourselves on having a great event with a spectacular venue and look forward to this year’s event!

GRAND CHAMPION RECEIVES: TROPHY & $2,500.00 The Grand Champion Team must have the highest accumulated total score from ALL FOUR categories.  The Reserve Grand Champion will receive $1,500.00 and must have the second highest accumulated total score from ALL FOUR categories, 3rd Place Overall receives$750.00, 4th Place Overall receives $500.00, and 5th Place Overall receives $350.00

First place in each category will receive $500.00 and a first place trophy; second place in each category will receive $300.00 and a second place ribbon; third place in each category will receive $150.00 and a third place ribbon; fourth place in each category will receive $100.00 and a ribbon, and fifth place in each category will receive $50.00 and a ribbon.  

Teams may set up starting at 9:00 a.m., the Friday of the event.  Judging begins at 11:30 a.m. Saturday.

 

BBQ FEST INFORMATION: 

The “SHOWMANSHIP” category will again be included as part of Friday night’s program. Showmanship is awarded to the team inviting the most notice or attention by presenting or displaying entertainment to amuse other teams and the public through song, skits, activities, decorations, costumes, enthusiasm and crowd participation. Judging for the showmanship category will be held from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Friday evening with the winners announced at 9:30 p.m. PLEASE NOTE: Meat categories are chicken, pork ribs (loin or spare), pork (shoulder/butt/picnic), and brisket (beef).

This year’s Cape BBQ Fest will be bigger and better than ever.

Date(s):          Friday August 18th and Saturday 19th, 2017
Location:         Arena Park, Cape Girardeau MO
Purpose:         To provide an opportunity for area backyard BBQ teams to compete for bragging rights and a grand prize of $2,500!  The total purse for winners will be $10,000 this year!

*In order to be eligible for the Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion prize, you must compete in ALL FOUR categories.

Bloody Mary Contest:

You can enter the bloody Mary contest free of charge.  Put your mixology to the test.  Prizes available for 1st place. 

Turn in your Bloody Mary at 8pm at the North Door of the Arena Building. 

Showmanship:

Entertainment presented by participating teams to amuse other teams and the public through skits, decorations, costumes, enthusiasm, and crowd participation.
